Who were the Selfs?

Come find out this Thursday January 5th at 6pm as CHS member Josh Self gives a presentation on the history of the Self family throughout the ages and how they influenced and helped start and found the City of Clay. The presentation will be held at the Senior Center in Clay off of Clay Palmerdale Road (by the fire station).
Josh is the family historian for the Self Family in Clay, drawing on research from his father Dean Self, Alan Huff and Myric Davis, he has pieced together the Self heritage with the help of modern tools like Ancestry.com. He has also heard a lot of family history first hand from some of the older members of the Self family like his grandmother Faye Self (the oldest living person in Clay). He even solved a slightly mysterious Native American Indian connection in the family tree! (You’ll want to hear this!).
Its sure to be a great time for all you history buffs and food buffs as well as the CHS will be having its annual Christmas / New Years pot luck dinner as well, so if you’re feeling hungry bring a dish or snack to share with everyone!
There will be historical documents and items from the family for you to examine and reproductions of early census documents with the family listed. If you are a Self or know a Self, this should be interesting!
